KDIPA is one of the implementing arms of the State of Kuwait's development strategy, established under the Law No. (116) of 2013, regarding the promotion of direct investment in the country. It is mandated with the following tasks: - Promoting direct investment (both local and foreign) - Streamlining the investment environment to improve Kuwait’s position in competitiveness and doing business in alignment with international indices - Licensing direct investments in accordance with set criteria - Raising awareness regarding the importance of direct investments - Promoting the State of Kuwait's investment environment and available direct investment opportunities. KDIPA is overseen by a Board of Directors chaired by the Minister of Commerce & Industry, and managed by a Director General.
